Dr Matthew Aldrich is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of East Anglia. He is an applied labour economist, and research interests include human capital, working hours patterns and the effects of policy interventions on the labour market. He is Associate Dean for Employability in the Faculty of Social Science at the University of East Anglia.
Previous research includes the role of soft skills and its relationship to higher education, and the costs of social care and how policy could be improved for families involved in complex cases requiring intervention. He teaches microeconomics, labour economics and economics of the public sector.
